The Best Dog-Friendly Glamping Locations in the UK
Sixty-one of the seventy-nine Wigwam® Holidays sites welcome dogs, and twenty-five of those also have cabins with hot tubs. That is a lot of choice, which is a nice problem until you are actually trying to pick one. So this is not another list of everywhere. It is a set of opinions about which sites are genuinely best for a particular kind of dog and a particular kind of trip. The dog-friendly glamping collection is the place to start searching, and every site below links to its own page for dates and prices.
Best for beaches

Sandy Bay Croft on the Isle of Harris sits above Scarista, which is one of the best beaches in Europe and almost always empty. Belhaven Bay at Dunbar is the mainland equivalent: wide sands, the John Muir Way running through, and plenty of room for a dog. On the English side, Springhill Farm at Seahouses puts you fifteen minutes from Bamburgh and Beadnell, and Humble Bee Farm near Scarborough, where every cabin type takes dogs, puts Cayton Bay and Filey Bay within easy reach. Check the seasonal dog rules on each beach before you go.
Scotland is the easier country for beach trips with a dog, because most Scottish beaches stay open all year while much of England and Wales restricts the resort sections from May to September.
Best for long walks from the door
If your dog measures a holiday in miles, the site matters more than the region. Hafren in Powys sits in the Cambrian Mountains, sheltered by ancient woodland on the edge of a working farm, and every one of its cabin types takes dogs. Glenlivet in the Cairngorms is set in woodland, with the Glenlivet Estate's waymarked trails close by. Two of its cabin types are pet free, so book one marked as dogs allowed. Knighton is on the Offa's Dyke Path, which makes it the obvious stop if you are walking a route rather than doing day trips. Only one of its three cabins, Red Kite, takes dogs, so it books early. Hillend above Todmorden, a single cabin with a hot tub, adds the South Pennines, with the Pennine Way and the Rochdale Canal towpath giving you high moorland and flat towpath miles from the same cabin.
Best for a dog and a hot tub
Twenty-five sites offer both, but the cabin itself has to be both, so check the cabin listing rather than the site. Wigtown in Dumfries and Galloway is the strongest: every one of its cabin types takes dogs and five of the six have a hot tub. At Sedgewell Barn in North Yorkshire every cabin type has a hot tub and takes dogs. Montrave Estate in Fife takes dogs in every cabin type, and five of its six come with a hot tub or an outdoor bath. Cove Farm on the Berwickshire coast has a hot tub, included or optional, with every cabin type, and three of its four types take dogs, and at Herding Hill Farm near Hadrian's Wall both hot tub pod types take dogs. There is more on this in our guide to dog-friendly glamping with hot tubs.
Best if several people are bringing dogs
This is where site size matters more than anything. Springhill Farm has 18 wigwams and both of its cabin types take dogs, with no pet charge. Herding Hill Farm has 17 cabins and dogs are welcome in most of them. Montrave Estate has 11, every cabin type takes dogs, and each cabin allows up to two. For a smaller group, Aberystwyth, Hafren, Sedgewell Barn and Humble Bee Farm take dogs in every cabin type, and Crowtree and The Loft in Moray take them in most.
Best for a short break from a city

Lee Valley in Hertfordshire sits on a bend in the river with London around thirty minutes away by train, and it has dog-friendly versions of both its cabin types. Mortonhall is in Edinburgh itself and Lost Shore, on the edge of the city, takes dogs in its larger lodges. Ribble Valley is under an hour from Manchester, as is Hillend from the other direction.
Best by country
If you would rather start from a region than from a theme, each country page brings its sites together. England has thirty dog-friendly sites of thirty-three, the most of any country in the network, with county guides for Yorkshire, Northumberland and the Lake District and Cumbria. Scotland has twenty-four, the widest geographic spread of any country and the most generous access rights, and the full picture is in our guide to dog-friendly glamping in Scotland. Wales has six, covered in our guide to Wales. Northern Ireland has Causeway Coast at Bushmills.
Before you book
Dog-friendly is a property of the individual cabin rather than the whole site, so book the specific cabin. Many sites charge a small fee per dog, some charge nothing, and most cap the number per cabin at two. Both are on the cabin listing. If this is your first trip with a dog, our guide to glamping with dogs covers packing, the first night and the livestock rules that actually matter. And if you are not sure which region is closest, start with dog-friendly glamping near me.
Ready to book
Start your search on the dog-friendly glamping page, then book the specific cabin from the site's own listing. Booking direct with Wigwam® is always the best price.
