Glamping at Hadrian's Wall Herding Hill Wigwams®

Situated close to the peaceful town of Haltwhistle, Northumberland, Herding Hill Farm is a 5 star Wigwam®, glamping and camping site. We're just a 10-minute walk from Hadrian's Wall and only a short distance from the Northumberland National Park.

Surrounded by the stunning Northumberland countryside, our Wigwam® Cabins are also ideally close to the Lake District, the Cumbrian coast, Scottish borders and both the Northumberland and Kielder Forests. In addition to the natural scenery, the local area is dotted with historic landmarks and is famous for its Northumberland castles. We are located only 1 mile from the most dramatic section of Hadrian’s Wall at Cawfields Quarry with panoramic views and its reputation for dark skies making Herding Hill Farm the ideal campsite for stargazing. The “Centre of Britain” town of Haltwhistle is only 2 miles away and is a quaint little place with many shops, pubs and cafes. There is also a small Sainsburys and Co-op. Haltwhistle has a fabulous outdoor swimming pool with water slides which is really popular with our guests.

Our site is open all year round and our heated, timber Wigwam® Cabins are perfect for any season. Our luxury 5-star amenity block, complete with underfloor heating and sauna, is comparable to a 5-star hotel. It includes an indoor camper’s kitchen, drying room and laundry, disabled/family bathroom, shower facilities, toilets (the ladies' has two private bathrooms that have baths inside) & pot washing up area.

We have three different types of Wigwam® Cabins on site, some of our Wigwam® Cabins with hot tubs:

10 Running Water Wigwam® Cabins with WC, sleeping up to 5 people each. 7 of these have private outdoor hot tubs.

3 Big Chief Wigwam® Cabins, sleeping up to five people each. 1 of these has its own private outdoor hot tub.
