Things to do while glamping in Northallerton - The Wigwam® Holidays guide

Relax where you are at Sedgewell Barn

There’s nothing quite like relaxing on holiday - and Sedgewell Barn makes everything easy for you to do just that. There’s a play area for the kids and plenty of space for a big game of rounders. And if viewing games and sport, rather than playing, is more your thing then there’s lots of space to lounge in the sun, reading, dozing and enjoying the sight and sounds of your loved ones having fun. And don’t forget to take a leisurely stroll to the local village pub for some twilight libations!

We are a family-friendly site and the addition of our play area is proving to be a great hit with our glamping guests.
Our play area is situated in our car-free grass paddock and is in sight of our deluxe cabins.
The play area includes a toddler and child's swing, a basket swing, a slide and a picnic bench.
There's plenty of open space for the youngsters to run off steam, too!
Families with four-legged friends can also use our private dog walk, pawfect for the pooches!

Fountains Abbey

Pick your way through the 900-year-old abbey ruins and marvel at the stunning water gardens from the Georgian era at this incredible World Heritage Site. There are over 800 acres to explore - including a medieval deer park, a stunning walk around the abbey (allow three hours for this), a mill and some Elizabethan architecture.

There are guided tours to take you through the architecture - and the diverse history of this incredible site and we challenge you to find the ancient, stone carved graffiti in the cellarium.

Betty’s Tearoom

Betty’s tearoom has a rich history, which starts in Switzerland, over 100 years ago. One accidental train journey and a mysterious ‘Betty’ later, this tea room is famous throughout York, England and beyond as the place to visit for afternoon tea. Well worth a visit while glamping in Yorkshire - and easy to do as there are six different locations in Yorkshire - including Northallerton (which is less than 3 miles from Wigwam® Holidays Sedgewell Barn).

Wensleydale Railway

Enjoy a view of the Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of a heritage diesel or steam train. This train journey takes you through bustling market towns, over hills and fields - there’s no better way to take in the rolling scenery on your glamping holiday.
