Pods in the Sticks is a glamping experience located in beautiful, peaceful countryside on the edge of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. As the name suggests, we’re located ‘in the sticks’ on a small working sheep farm just outside the market town of Kendal — famous for its Mint Cake and known as the ‘Gateway to the Lakes’. Our cosy glamping pods near the Lake District offer the perfect countryside escape surrounded by peaceful farmland and stunning views.

So, we’re perfectly located … ‘in the sticks’ so you can enjoy a peaceful glamping pod retreat, but also an ideal base for exploring the stunning Yorkshire Dales on one side, and the beautiful Lake District on the other. 

The site is small but perfectly formed, and offers a quiet retreat with amazing views towards the Lake District, Kentmere, Whinfell and the Howgill fells.

Our pods take their names from the surrounding fells that help make the views rather special.

The pods are identical (almost), comfortably sleeping 2 adults and 2 children. Each pod boasts its own private outdoor space — the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast while taking in the spectacular views and watching the sheep grazing in the nearby fields.

In the evenings, cosy up next to your fire pit and you relax while you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and the star-filled night sky.

We’re less than 10 minutes from J37 of the M6 and just outside of the Market Town of Kendal and perfectly located to explore both the Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District National Parks.

Check in is from 2pm on the day or arrival and check our is 10am (or before) on the day of departure.
Yes we do. We're happy to accept small-medium sized, well-behaved dogs.
Yes, we have private parking for up to 3 cars.
Yes, we have one Type 2 EV charging unit onsite.
Each pods sleeps up to 4 people. 2 adults and 2 children.
You are able to smoke and vape outside on the site. Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside the pods.
We already provide a fire pit, and a small amount of wood, kindling and fire lighters are provided on arrival. Additional packs (as above) are available for £5 per basket. You are able to bring your own disposable BBQ, but you can only use it a safe distance from the pod and use the BBQ stand provided in the Games Shed, so you don't damage the picnic table or burn the grass.
No sorry, we have a minimum 2 night only booking restriction.
Yes, both pods have their own WiFi network.
We would appreciate the pods being left in a clean and tidy condition. We ask that all rubbish be put in the relevant bins provided. Guests who leave the pod in an unsatisfactory condition, may be charged an additional cleaning fee (taken from the card used to pay for the stay).
