Do Any of Your Wigwam Cabins Have Private Hot Tubs?

Yes. All ten of our Running Water Deluxe Wigwam Cabins and the Wigwam Lodge Cabin have private bubbly electric hot tubs, each offering privacy and protection from the elements with a stylish timber canopy decorated with fairy lights. The hot tubs are heated using air source heat pumps.

Do You Allow Dogs/Pets? If So, Is There A Pet Charge?

Yes. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin with prior notice and for an additional charge, shown in Price and Availability. Please see Terms and Conditions for further important information about bringing your dog. We have one pet-free cabin, subject to availability.

Does The Site Have A Play Area For Children?

Yes. We have an enclosed play area with a basket swing, two swings (one suitable for toddlers), a slide and a picnic table. We ask that children are supervised at all times while using the play area.

There is a large grassed play area for guests to play football, cricket, rounders, frisbee or just enjoy the fresh country air and take in the glorious views. 

Do You Accept Groups, Parties or Celebrations?

Yes as a general rule we welcome group bookings but unfortunately we are unable to accept group bookings if you are aged 18 years to 21 years.

We can provide a celebration bundle for special occasions (giving at least 48 hours notice). Further details of this is shown on our Tariffs page. 

Do You Allow Campfires?

The only form of campfire which is permitted is the firepit/BBQ mentioned below.

What Do We Do if we want to use the Firepit/BBQ?

We provide a firepit with each cabin which can also be used as a BBQ facility for cooking food.

One fire bundle with everything you need to light the firepit/BBQ is also provided. A fire bundles include matches, kindling, natural firelighters and Woodsure certified, kiln-dried timber from a sustainable source. We will leave this on the step outside your cabin in time for your arrival.

You are not permitted to bring your own timber to Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn or remove fire bundles from other cabins. One fire bundle will last you one to two nights, depending on usage. While you're staying on site, if you need extra wood, additional nets of logs or fire bundles can be ordered by telephone before 4pm that day which must be pre-paid for.

You are not permitted to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead or cabins. All timber, the firepit and similar flammable materials are the property of the site owners. DO NOT use any flammable materials or liquids on your firepit, other than those supplied by us. Please be aware of the wind direction, ensuring the smoke doesn't affect or annoy other guests.

Please use your firepit/BBQ safety. Use of disposable BBQs is strictly forbidden.

What Is Included In Our Cabins?

  • Integrated private shower room with toilet, wash hand basin, walk-in shower, towel rail radiator. (our new Wigwam Lodge cabin, has a wet room bathroom with accessible features). Towels can be hired for an additional charge.

  • Kitchenette with sink, fridge, electric hob, kettle, toaster and microwave.

  • Double bed and double sofa bed with a throw (our Wigwam Lodge Cabin also has an extra single bed).

  • Bedding is provided for one double bed which includes one double sized duvet with cover, two pillows with pillowcases and a fitted sheet. Extra bedding can be pre-ordered for an additional charge.

  • Centrally located electric wall heater.

  • Dining table and four chairs.

  • TV with DVD player (there is also a USB port if wish to bring a Firestick or Chromecast).

  • Lockable French doors leading onto outdoor decking area with panoramic views over open countryside, picnic table & firebowl/BBQ.

  • Well equipped kitchen mugs, dinner plates, side plates, cereal bowls, cutlery, wine glasses, plastic tumblers, pans, kitchen utensils, tea towel, liquid hand soap, washing up liquid, washing up bowl, J-cloth, chopping board, tin opener, ice cube tray, sweeping brush, dustpan and brush.

  • Fairy lights and bunting.

  • Bike storage facilities

Additional items including a celebration bundle, additional bedding, towels, lanterns, travel cots etc. can be pre-ordered.

What Cooking Facilities Are Provided?

All our Wigwam Deluxe Cabins have a kitchen area with sink, fridge, electric hob, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is also a complimentary firepit/BBQ for guests to enjoy with logs available to pre-order.

What Do I Need To Bring?

Additional bedding if required for the second bed (including duvet and covers, pillows and cases and a double sized flat or fitted sheet for the mattress), towels, toiletries, extra toilet rolls (one is already provided), a torch or headlamp, change for the honesty shop (eggs & marshmallows), flip flops and bathrobes for hot tub use.

Is There Parking Next To The Wigwam Cabins? If Not, How Close Is The Parking Area?

Each Wigwam Cabin has its own designated parking space adjacent to it. This has been designed in such a way as to leave the site itself car-free. Additional parking spaces are also available at an extra charge.

Do you Have Bike Storage Facilities?

Yes. There are communal bike storage facilities on-site.

What Is The Latest Time I Can Check-In?

There is no stipulation about the latest arrival time as we leave keys in Wigwam Cabins  for you to check yourselves in.

What Time Do I Need To Vacate The Wigwam Cabin?

10am prompt. This is to ensure we can provide you with the highest standards of cleanliness on check- in. 

Are The Wigwam Cabins Warm All Year Round?

Yes. They are very well insulated and have an electric wall heater, making them cosy and warm during the coldest of weather.

Do You Have A Shop/Reception Onsite And When Is It Open?

No, but we have an on-site Honesty Shop selling marshmallows and fresh eggs. There is a village shop close by which sells a good range of provisions. 

How Many Toilets And Showers Do You Have Onsite?

There are no communal toilets and showers as these are all provided en-suite in your Wigwam Cabin.

How Close Is The Nearest Pub Or Restaurant?

The nearest pub/restaurant is 0.5 miles away or a 10 to 15 minute walk -The Wellington Heifer, Ainderby Steeple. Booking is essential as it is often very busy.

How Far To The Nearest Supermarket?

The nearest Co-op supermarket is less than 2.5 miles away although there are several other major supermarkets in Northallerton, approximately 3 miles from here. There is also a well-stocked village shop close by.

How Far Is The Nearest Butcher?

We have a number of very good butchers within the area where you can buy breakfast and barbeque provisions for your BBQ/firepit.

The nearest one is White’s Butchers in Morton on Swale but there are also some excellent butchers in Northallerton and Bedale, details of which are provided in our online welcome folder.

How Far Is It From Public Transport?

The nearest bus stop is on the village green in Ainderby Steeple which is about a 15 minute walk.

The nearest railway station is Northallerton which is approximately 3 miles away.

Can I Order Any Additional Items?

Yes there is a comprehensive list of additional items together with prices on our Tariffs page. If there is anything you have forgotten or require once you get here such as bedding, towels etc. please let us know as we may be able to hire these items to you at short notice. 

Is There WiFi Access Onsite?

No but there is 4G network coverage here with many of the mobile providers. If in doubt please check online with your own network provider.

Is There Electric Vehicle Charging available?

We don't have any charging facilities available on site and we ask that you do not plug in your car using a three pin plug. However there are charging points available in Northallerton, Bedale and Thirsk.
