The Easter school holidays give you a fantastic opportunity for some quality family time, but keeping kids busy and entertained while school’s out can be a challenge. That’s why today, we’ll take a look at some of the best Easter events taking place around the UK to help you plan a fantastic Easter holiday. In no particular order, here are our nine favourite UK Easter events for 2020.


1. Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt, Various Locations, 10-13th April

What’s Easter without an egg hunt? The beloved chocolatier Cadbury is hosting numerous egg hunts throughout the UK once again this year, partnering up with the National Trust and the National Trust for Scotland. Heading out on one of these hunts is fun for the whole family, as the kids can hunt for eggs in hopes of yummy chocolate treats while the adults can relax and enjoy the beautiful settings: historical castles, fine stately homes and meticulously maintained gardens, all under the protection of the National Trusts.

2. Easter Adventure Quest, Various Locations, 4-19th April

Taking a page out of Cadbury’s book, luxury chocolatier Hotel Chocolat has teamed up with English Heritage to bring a multitude of Easter events to castles, stately homes and other historically significant locations throughout England. The Easter Adventure Quests sees families join an exciting quest to hunt down dragon eggs through the grounds of historical sites, with a certificate and yummy prizes available for those who crack the case.

3. Medieval Easter, Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, 4-19th April

To celebrate the 500th anniversary of one of the most significant sporting events in history, The Field of Cloth of Gold, the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds brings history to life with action-packed events and a fun new exhibition fit for the whole family. There’ll be hands-on exhibits, actors in period dress and even a jousting tournament to capture the imaginations of kids young and old. This is a completely free event. 4. Easter Eggstravaganza, Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, 10-13th April

The magnificent Pleasure Gardens at Blenheim Palace will transform into a wonderland of family fun this Easter. With a fairground, princess meet-and-greets, face painting, fairy stilt walkers, archery lessons, puppet shows and much more, the hardest part of your day will be trying to fit in all the fabulous activities on offer.

5. Cheshire Food, Drink & Lifestyle Festival, 11-13th April

With more than 150 artisanal food and drink exhibitors and loads of live entertainment, the Cheshire Food & Drink Festival is an unmissable Easter event for foodies. It’s the biggest festival of its kind in the UK, and for the kids, there’s a free cooking workshop hosted by the Academy of Culinary Arts. 6. Canoe Easter Egg Hunt, Hampshire, 4-13th April

Now here’s an Easter egg hunt with a twist! Explore the fabulous Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest District on a Canadian style canoe before getting onto dry land again to hunt down some eggs by the riverside. Then it’s back in the canoe for a victorious paddle back to the base.

7. Easter at RSPB Loch Lomond, 6-19th April

Want to get away from it all and into peaceful nature this Easter? Loch Lomond is a fantastic destination, with a springtime nature trail that teaches kids to look for the first signs of life after winter. From the 11th to the 13th, you can also take part in Easter events at the High Wards Farm, including spring-themed crafts, an adventure trail, and of course, an Easter egg hunt. 8. Easter Egg-stravaganza at the Silver Mountain Experience, Aberystwyth, 4-19th April

You didn’t think we’d forget about Wales on our list, did you? The Silver Mountain Experience in Mid Wales combines the region’s fascinating mining history with local myths and legends for an attraction to inspire the whole family. This Easter, join them for a variety of fun events and competition, including a dragon egg design competition, spring crafts and yummy Easter treats in the cafe!
