What time can I check in from?

3pm-5pm is our check-in window, however we also recognise work commitments can often make this impossible. Therefore please contact the site beforehand to arrange self-check-in, where we will send guests cabin directions and instructions. We kindly ask that you do not arrive before 3pm as your cabin may not be ready.

We ask everyone to vacate their Wigwam Cabin by 10am prompt. Guests are expected to leave the Wigwam cabin in a neat and tidy condition with all rubbish deposited in the bin area located to the side of the reception building.

Do you accept groups?

Accepted Answer

Yes, however group bookings must be made directly with site management via brampton@wigwamholidays.com or 01697 741115. You may be asked to pay a refundable deposit upon making a group booking. Please note, as we are a family friendly site, and don't accept hen or stag do's. We expect group bookings to respect other guests staying onsite by keeping noise to a minimum, adhering to a noise curfew from 10pm until 7am.

We are open all year round, with the exception we may close for a few days during the Christmas period.

Do you allow dogs/pets? If so, is there a pet charge?

Yes. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for an additional charge of £15 per dog. We have five dog-friendly Wigwam Cabins in total, all with private decking areas. Wooden fences to enclose decking's are available upon request. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and owners are expected to clean up after their dog(s) and use the poo bins provided onsite. No dangerous breeds are allowed. Please refer to Dangerous Dog Act (1991).

Is the site suitable for children?

Yes, the site is very suitable for children with a number of open grassy spaces and facilities, including:

Kids Fishing (open Spring and Summer season)
Giant games (connect4)
Pond Dipping
Grassed Areas

Yes! For each booking we fill the hot tub with fresh water, and will endeavor to get it to an enjoyable temperature ready for check-in. Before using the hot tub, please refer to the Hot Tub Safety Rules, displayed next to hot tub.

Yes, only using the provided Fire Pits. All our Wigwam Cabins come with a fire pit and swing BBQ grill. Disposable/portable BBQ's are not permitted onsite. You can purchase charcoal and fire bundles from the tackle shop/reception.

Inside all our Wigwam Cabins is a small kitchen area with 2 electric hobs, a microwave, toaster and kettle. Each Wigwam also comes with an outdoor Firepit with BBQ swing grill.

No, we operate a pedestrians-only policy near the cabins, however, there is parking located within walking distance of the Wigwam Cabins. If you or any of your party has physical disabilities please contact the site (01697 741115) and we will do our best to locate you as close to your cabins are possible.

Do you have a shop/reception and when is it open?

Yes, the tackle shop acts as a reception and is open 9am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The shop is located in the main car park.

We don't have any WiFi facilities in the Wigwam Cabins as we encourage guests to get "off grid", but we do have WiFi access outside the reception building- it is free of charge. There is also good 4G on site.

The nearest pub is The Howard Arms, approx 1.6 miles away in Brampton, and the Duke of Cumberland is approx 4.8 miles away in Castle Carrock. Both are lovely pubs that are dog-friendly.

The nearest supermarket is Co-op, approx 1.3miles away in Brampton. There is also two Spar's, a health food shop and Cranstons Foodhall (Cumbrian produce and meat counter) in the town centre.

You can find the nearest bus stop 1mile away at The Sands. To find it, walk down the road towards Brampton (685 – Hexham-Carlisle). Brampton train station is located 2.2miles away- https://goo.gl/maps/oYx3RB8AzaX8pYvHA with hourly trains to Newcastle and Carlisle. Please note the walk from Brampton train station to our site is not the safest; therefore, we highly recommend arranging your transport to and from well in advance of your stay.
