Mangersta Croft

Glamping on the Isle of Lewis

We offer scenic, self-catering glamping accommodation in the Outer Hebrides. Our Mangersta Croft Wigwam® Cabins and Shepherd's Huts are situated in an idyllic coastal village in the Uig area of the Isle of Lewis.

Holiday here and discover one of Scotland's last remaining wildernesses. This National Scenic Area is particularly noteworthy for its numerous white shell sand beaches, rocky coves, turquoise sea views, dramatic cliffs and gentle machair grasslands, which are carpeted with wildflowers during the summer months.

We raise a small herd of cattle, Hebridean and Blackface sheep, poultry, grow fodder crops and vegetables on our working croft. The small village of 13 houses nestles in a fertile valley, which opens out to Mangersta Sands. All within 5 min walk of the Wigwam® Cabins, this scenic beach is a great place to build sandcastles and explore rock pools, and it's also a popular location for experienced surfers.

To the south-east, the rugged Uig Hills rise up from sea level. Stunning hill walking territory, this landscape is home to Golden Eagles, White-tailed Eagles, red deer and mountain hares. A gentle stroll up the croft to the cliff-tops on the other side of the village gives panoramic views across the ocean. The Mangersta sea cliffs contain named routes detailed in climbing guides. They are also a fantastic spot for watching sea birds.

Cycling is another great way to explore the quiet coastal roads and mountain tracks. Alternatively, simply relax in one of two luxury en-suite Wigwam® Cabins, enjoy a campfire under the stars and experience the peace and tranquility of a crofting community on the edge of the North Atlantic.
