Cnoc Nan Uan Lodge

Cnoc Nan Uan is located on the Hebridean island of North Uist on the west coast of Scotland. Our location provides easy accessibility to walking and cycling trails, wildlife sightings, and local shops and restaurants. An amazing spot for birdwatching, the accommodation boasts sightings of the corncrake and short-eared owls on the croft, with numerous seabirds, golden eagles, and sea eagles nearby. The wildlife and trails are ideal attractions for the adventurer, and the Hebridean scenery is outstanding.

The brand new Cnoc Nan Uan Lodge is situated next to the traditional family home in the village of Tigharry on the west side of North Uist.  Cnoc Nan Uan translates as “Hillock (or mound) of the Lambs”, and the forename “Hillock” is just behind the house on the croft. It has had a history of producing high quality lambs, and the standard of the croft has been well-maintained for generations. Our location is within walking distance of expanses of gorgeous sandy beaches, lush expanses of greenery, and the renowned Balranald Nature Reserve.

The Wigwam on site is an Accessible Lodge type and is therefore fully adapted for the disabled but also suitable for guests of any ability. The Lodge is roomy enough to sleep five if required and features two double beds and one single. The double beds also function as the seating area, as they can be folded or pulled out as desired, and they have ample drawer storage space beneath. 

The kitchenette is well-equipped with four induction rings, a microwave and a refrigerator with small freezer compartment. There is also a toaster, kettle, and a George Foreman grill and slow cooker to aid cooking desires, as well as a good selection of pots, pans, cutlery, and dishes. 

The private bathroom is very spacious and entirely wheelchair accessible. It is ensuite to the Lodge, and features a standing shower with shower chair, toilet, and sink. There is a heated towel rail, and a hairdryer is provided for your convenience. 

Outside the Lodge, you will find a nice picnic table to sit at to eat, or enjoy a coffee. There is ample parking available beside the Lodge.

The Lodge is completely private, so you can adventure at your own leisure,  and enjoy a tranquil experience away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Cnoc Nan Uan is the perfect spot to take in an enchanting landscape, watch a wide variety of wildlife, and enjoy some needed rest. 

On arrival at Cnoc Nan Uan Lodge, guests are warmly welcomed with a cup of tea/coffee and home baking. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits are always provided for guests in the Lodge.
