Glamping in the Scottish Borders

If it's breathtaking beauty and tranquility you're after - then glamping in the Scottish Borders is ideal. Known as the gateway to Scotland, this peaceful location is spectacular at any time of year - with miles of rolling hills and moorland, lush forests, lavish valleys, lofty peaks and the dramatic rocky Berwickshire coastline.

Like many of our Wigwam Holidays destinations, it's a place steeped in history with an enthralling past - having been fought over since Roman times - there are 13 museums across the Borders presenting its unique local heritage.

The landscape offers Britain's biggest area of hill ground outside the Highlands - it's ideal walking and wild-life spotting territory with fabulous scenic views. The region also offers some of the best cycling in Scotland including the top mountain biking centre in the UK, Glentress Forest, featuring some of the best downhill trails in the world.

The Scottish Borders are also well known for a textile industry dating back to the 13th century - today it's a centre of excellence for lambswool goods and cashmere and there is even a textile trail to follow. Travel on quiet roads between friendly villages and towns including the historic fishing port of Eyemouth with its quaint and cobbled streets - or the arts destination town of Peebles with its many independent shops.

Local produce abounds - from luscious seasonal berries, meat, game, local cheese and seafood - to the fruity Selkirk Bannock. All this and much more awaits anyone booking one of our camping pods in the fascinating Scottish Borders area.
