How many Wigwams does your site have?

 We have 5 Running Water 200 Wigwams and 1 Wigwam Lodge Accessible.

When is your site open? 

We are open all year.

Do you allow dogs? If so, is there an additional charge?

 Yes, we welcome dogs. There is an additional charge of £8/dog/night. We also request dogs be kept on a lead on site for the safety of other guests and nearby livestock.

Is the site suitable for children?

Yes, there is a large grass area for children to play on. There is also a play park in the local village (1 mile away)

Do you accept groups, parties, or celebrations?

Yes, but this would require a full site booking so as not to spoil any other guests' stay. Sorry, no Hen and Stag parties though.

Do you allow campfires?

Each Wigwam comes with a complimentary fire pit/BBQ. We do not allow private campfires or disposable BBQs on site.

What is included in one of your standard Wigwams?

Each Wigwam has a double bed and double sofa bed (2 double sofa beds and 1 single bed in Accessible Lodge), an en-suite toilet and electric shower, fitted kitchen with microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, double electric hob, sink, crockery and cookware, dining table and chairs, T.V, private picnic bench and firepit.

Is electricity included in the tariff? 

Yes, all electricity is included.

What cooking facilities are provided?

Each Wigwam has a microwave, double electric hob, and outdoor firepit/BBQ.

What do I need to bring? 

Additional bedding and towels if required, toiletries, torch/headlamp, wellies/walking boots.

Can I order any extras?

 If so, how much for each item? Fire bundles (includes logs, kindling, firelighters, and matches) - £12/bundle and logs - £8/bag can be purchased for use in the complimentary fire pit and if required for the hot tub.

Is there parking next to the Wigwam?

Yes, there is space for one car behind each Wigwam and additional parking next to the site storage building.

From what time can I check in?

Check-in is from 3pm. Earlier check-in times may be available by prior arrangement. 

What is the latest time I can check in?

 The latest check-in time is 7pm. Guests arriving after 7pm should contact us to arrange for key to be left in the cabin.

What time do I need to vacate the Wigwam?

We require all guests to have vacated the cabins by 10am prompt on the day of departure.

Do you have a shop/reception on site and when is it open?

 We don’t have a shop. Our Reception/store building will be open when we are on site where you can purchase fire bundles and logs for fire pits and hot tubs.

How many toilets and showers do you have on-site?

All of our Wigwams have en-suite toilets and electric showers.

Do you have a family shower for babies?

All our Wigwams have en-suite electric showers.

How close is the nearest pub or restaurant?

The Pheasant Inn is 1 mile away in the village of Cumwhitton. There is a fantastic choice of other pubs and restaurants within 5 miles of the site as well.

How far to the nearest supermarket?

There is a village shop 4.5 miles away in Armathwaite that stocks a large selection of essentials. There is also a Co-op 5.5 miles away in Corby Hill and a large Tesco superstore 9 miles away just off J43 of the M6 at Carlisle.

How far is it from public transport?

The nearest railway station is 4.8 miles away in Armathwaite on the Carlisle-Settle line. The nearest bus stop is 5.5 miles away in Corby Hill.

Is there WiFi access on site?

No, we currently don't have WiFi access but it is to be installed by June/July 2023
