Wigwam has a glamping pod with a private hot tub in East Yorkshire - a county of varied landscapes including the gentle chalk wolds, the dramatic Humber estuary, and a spectacular Heritage Coast stretching from Spurn Head to Flamborough. East Yorkshire combines coastal grandeur with peaceful agricultural countryside and the historic city of Hull.
Yes. East Yorkshire's Wigwam pods are positioned within the county's rural areas, with both the Yorkshire Wolds AONB and the East Yorkshire Heritage Coast accessible for day trips. The Wolds Way long-distance path runs through the Wolds, and Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs offer some of England's most spectacular seabird experiences.
East Yorkshire has a dramatic and undervisited coastline - from the nesting seabirds of Bempton Cliffs (RSPB) to the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington and the unique chalk stack scenery at Flamborough. A Wigwam pod with a private hot tub combined with day trips to the East Yorkshire coast makes for an excellent and varied short break.
Check the individual Wigwam listing for its current dog policy. East Yorkshire has good dog-walking on the Wolds Way, Flamborough Heritage Coast path, Spurn National Nature Reserve, and quieter beaches along the Heritage Coast (particularly outside summer). The gentle Wolds countryside is also excellent for longer dog walks away from traffic.
Yes. East Yorkshire offers a quieter alternative to its more famous neighbour, North Yorkshire - with the same beautiful countryside at a lower price point and with fewer visitors. The Wolds Way walking, Beverley Minster, the Humber Bridge, and the excellent local food scene (Hull's fantastic food market, Beverley's restaurants) all make for a rewarding couple's break.
Wigwam's East Yorkshire pod is in the county's rural area, with Bridlington and Flamborough Head accessible for day trips. Flamborough Head is particularly spectacular - a chalk headland with sea caves, a Victorian lighthouse, and the UK's largest seabird colony. Bridlington has a traditional sandy beach and a working harbour.
Near East Yorkshire Wigwam pods you can walk the Wolds Way, visit Bempton Cliffs RSPB (puffins May–August), cycle the TransPennine Trail, explore Beverley's medieval minster and Saturday market, visit the Humber Bridge Country Park, birdwatch at Spurn Head NNR, and enjoy Bridlington's beach and seafront.
Yes. East Yorkshire has good family attractions including The Deep aquarium in Hull, Bridlington beach and amusements, Flamborough's sea caves, Bempton's seabirds (puffins are a particular hit with children), and a range of farm parks and wildlife centres. Wigwam pods are fully equipped for family self-catering stays.
Summer is wonderful for coastal days on the East Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Late spring (April–July) is best for puffins and seabirds at Bempton Cliffs. Autumn is superb for walking the Wolds in golden light with very few other visitors. Winter is increasingly popular for cosy pod stays - Beverley and the Wolds have a quiet, authentic character in the off-season.
East Yorkshire Wigwam pods are typically within 30–45 minutes of Hull (one of England's most revitalised cities with a brilliant museum quarter and The Deep) and around 45–60 minutes from York. Both cities are excellent for a day trip, offering contrasting characters - Hull for culture and seafood, York for history and gastronomy.
