Glamping Pod near St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife

Enjoy a relaxing glamping break at Wigwam Holidays Montrave Estate.  Sometimes the best holidays mean staying in one place. When you’re glamping at Wigwam Holidays Montrave Estate, there’s no real need to go very far!  We are a deer farm with plenty of woodlands that you can explore and wander through. There are swings, a football field and a communal dutch barn used as reception with a huge BBQ fire and ping pong table - you have everything you need to stay put, relax and feel right at home in this lovely setting. During Summer you can order your very own Wood Fired Pizza made on site in the brick oven (Wednesdays and Saturdays)

Each of the Wigwam cabins is fitted with en-suite bathroom and washing facilities, has electricity, heating & hot water throughout and enjoys beautiful views across the estate and countryside. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature from your own outdoor dining area, campfire and BBQ and beautiful views across the estate and countryside.

For added pampering - book a glamping pod with a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for sinking into after a busy week at work and letting your troubles ease gently away. Bliss.

Visit the fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife

Wigwam Holidays Montrave Estate sits on the edge of the East Neuk of Fife - an area well known for its picturesque coastal villages and fishing towns. A short 30-minute drive from the glamping site will take you to the coast where you can explore the six main villages that make up the East Neuk. Anstruther, Crail, Elie, Kingsbarns, Pittenweem and St Monans. Each town and village has its own unique character and traditions so it’s worth exploring each of them. Well known for hosting arts festivals and live music, these wonderful places are probably best known for their incredible local seafood and the friendliness and banter of the locals.

Cairnie Fruit Farm & Mega Maze

Just 8 miles along the A916 is this incredible fruit farm. There’s so much to do here - it’s a great day out for the whole family. If you’re not glamping with kids - don’t worry! There’s still plenty to do here and it’s such a lovely space you’ll be glad you made the time to visit. Pick your own fruit from a wide selection throughout the year - strawberries, brambles, raspberries, gooseberries and cherries throughout the summer or pumpkins in the autumn months. You can also leave with an armful of sunflowers if you visit at the right time.
There are fun rides, go-karts and trampolines for kids big and small, tractor rides and entire playfields for the energetic ones. It’s always nice to sit back and watch the fun unfold and you can do that from the decking of the lovely tea room and restaurant, which serves locally sourced food, homemade ice cream and lots of other delicious treats, too.

Spend the day at Elie

Approx 10 miles from Wigwam Holidays Montrave Estate is Elie beach. In the summer months, the beachfront is packed with day-trippers and holidaymakers who come to enjoy the award-winning beach and the wonderful water sports. There are few cafes/pub along the shore front and some nice shops and a delicatessen in the middle of the village.

Falkland Palace and Gardens

Looked after by the National Trust for Scotland, this wonderful stately home was once a favourite destination of Mary, Queen of Scots who enjoyed many holidays exploring the estate or relaxing in the royal apartments. Wander around the meticulously recreated king & queen rooms and step into her world for a moment. The tour guides are always on hand with their expert knowledge and there are guided tours, as well as self-guided options. This wonderful palace is also used for filming Outlander, and there’s now a dedicated apothecary room based on the Netflix series which offers a fully immersive events to learn more about health care in the 1500s.

Outside there are stunning grounds to explore. Herb gardens, rare plants and flowers and a willow labyrinth to explore, as well as giant chess boards and picnic areas to relax in the beautiful surroundings.

There’s no better way to discover this wonderful part of Scotland than glamping near St. Andrews. It’s the perfect location for coastal walks, historic adventures, fine dining and outdoor activities. Visit nearby villages, towns and cities or wander through woodlands steeped in mystery and legends.

And what better way to unwind after a busy day exploring than sitting around a roaring campfire, toasting marshmallows and star gazing with the people you love most?
