A stay with us at Wigwam Holidays Glenlivet offers a unique opportunity to explore Scotland's excellent skiing and snow sport facilities. Whatever you are looking for, you are sure to find your perfect winter pastime! Please find below more information on our local Ski Centres.

The Lecht

The Lecht Ski Centre, is only 4 miles away from our campsite, set on the Ladder hills. The centre has equipment available for hire, ski and snowboard instruction available and an excellent cafe/bar. Equipment hire must be booked by 2pm the day before you plan to ski. Check out The Lecht's website to find up to date weather and ski info and slope opening times.

Glenshee

We are also conveniently located just 1 hour away from The Glenshee Ski Centre, the largest in Scotland. Glenshee takes its name from the Gaelic 'Glen of the Fairies' and certainly offers one of the most magical skiing experiences in Scotland! The centre offers equipment hire and tuition as well as an on site shop and cafe. Equipment for hire must be booked by 1pm the day before you Ski. For more information, please see the Glenshee website.

Go Cross Country

Cross country skiing is very popular with the locals here too. If there is good snowfall then it is a great way to explore the tracks around Tomintoul. The snow lies deep at Glenmulliach Forest (off the Lecht road, 1 miles south of Tomintoul) where the way marked walk route is suitable for cross-country skiing. Please remember that these are informal routes that are not managed for skiing and there may be rough patches to negotiate. Always be safe and only cross country ski if you are experienced.
