Things to do around Cromer and North Norfolk
If it's a beautiful morning - which it often is in Norfolk - then pack a picnic and take a gentle walk through country lanes and roads to Overstrand Beach. It's a lovely stretch of sand, dotted with brightly coloured beach huts, which always look great on your Instagram grid! There's tasty cafes and take away options in the small village of Overstrand if you haven't packed a picnic. A great way to spend a few hours to really get into the Norfolk way of life.
A six minute drive along Northepps Road towards Cromer and you'll arrive at Amazona Zoo. A lovely zoo dedicated to over 200 animals from South America. With a fun play area, a cafe, shop and lots of brilliant animals, it's a great way to spend a few hours on your glamping holiday.
Boat trips along the Broads
It won't take long to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of the working week when you spend a day on the Norfolk Broads. There's lots of options for you to enjoy the sights along the Broads National Park - Britain's largest protected wetland. It's a half hour drive along the A149 to Wroxham from Wigwam® Holidays Forest Park. Wroxham offers a few options for ways to explore the Broads. You can book onto a guided boat tour on a vintage Broadman. Independent spirits will enjoy hiring their own boat for the day and exploring the quaint broads villages and pubs.
Cromer Beach and Pier
Spend a day at a very traditional seaside resort. The Victorian pier has stood strong despite storms, and the test of time (and a plot to blow it up by the Government in World War 2!). Grab a bucket and some mackerel bait and have a crabbing competition with your family. Who can catch the most? There's much to do along Cromer Beach and Pier - take in a show, sample some tasty fish and chips, or simply sit on one of the many benches along the pier and enjoy the views. That's the life!
Blakeney Point Seal Pups
Blakeney Point Nature Reserve boasts one of the largest seal colonies in the UK. It's a stunning area of natural beauty with lots of walks on offer in the Friary Hills, and nature spotting to be done at Stiffkey Saltmarshes. If you time your trip right - you might just be able to spot some seal pups at Blakeney Point. It's important to view these territorial animals as responsibly as possible so the National Trust recommends heading to Morston Quay to take a boat trip to the pups.
You can get to Morston Quay from Wigwam® Holidays Forest Park after a short drive along the A148.
