Easter Glamping

A host of golden daffodils, bouncy spring lambs, adorable fluffy chicks and of course shiny, chocolate eggs - it can only be Easter!

The arrival of Easter means spring has sprung and with it, lighter evenings, springtime flowers and the chance to get into the great outdoors after a winter of 'hibernation'.

With the first long holiday of the year, 'schools are out' in time for the Easter break, and it's the perfect time for visiting your favourite or a new Wigwam Holidays site.

Have you ever considered, though, why Easter changes its dates each year? Why can't it be a fixed festival, like Christmas?

Easter is known as a 'moveable feast', and Easter Day will always fall on a Sunday between 22nd March and 25th April. Easter is calculated as the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21st, which is sometimes coincides with the Spring Equinox.

It's a traditional way working out the date, but as a result, Easter is different each year and we can have an early, middle or late Easter.

And don't forget those Easter traditions -

Hard boil an egg with some food colouring - be creative!

Watch out for the Easter Bunny, who delivers the eggs in the middle of the night before Easter Day.

Make simnel cake, a light fruitcake, eaten during the Easter period.

Create an Easter bonnet that everyone will admire!

Oh, and remember to book your glamping break with Wigwam Holidays!
