What is a Wigwam
A wigwam is a curved wooden building made from Sitka spruce or Norway spruce logs grown in Scottish forests. Small logs or poles are bent into a curved shape and formed into a 'whalebone' frame.
Inside, each wigwam is highly insulated with wooden floors and painted walls.
Outside, the walls are covered in timber cladding giving a natural, rustic look.
There are several designs of wigwams from 4/5 people cabins to larger lodges for up to 10 people. Wigwams are manufactured by All Round Buildings in Dumfries www.allroundbuildings.com.
What is a Wigwam Holiday Site
All Wigwam Holiday sites are rural and many are on farms and other agricultural holdings. Some sites are existing camping or caravan parks.
A typical site consists of several wigwams with central toilet/shower facilities and cookhouse. This can be a new building, or an existing farm building.
Sites vary from being small - two or three wigwams within a large garden or small holding to sites with bigger wigwams and lodges and a shop, cafe and laundry facilities.
All sites registered with Wigwam Holidays are advertised and promoted through our sales literature, website and national advertising.
Who are Wigwam Holidays
Wigwam Holidays is a national network of wigwam holiday sites, providing consistent value for money, self-catering, outdoor holidays. It was launched in June 2000 by All Round Buildings www.allroundbuildings.com in response to demand for comfortable, all-weather camping-style accommodation.
During the 2005/06 season, all sites were fully booked at weekends. To date, all sites are predicting high occupancy rates for 2007.
Future
There is an ever-increasing demand for Wigwam Holidays. Our aim is to continue developing the network of sites - both geographically and by style or size of site.

History
All Round Buildings www.allroundbuildings.com, under the leadership of Charles Gulland, the designer, has been manufacturing wooden wigwams since 1992.
