Site Description

For a holiday with a difference, bring your little Indians to our unique Big Chief Wigwams!

Each heated wooden wigwam has its own mattresses, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge and barbecue for the true outdoor experience. Just bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, torches, toiletries, plates, tea towels etc.

Call in at the farm shop for your barbecue essentials and set up camp! Wigwam visitors can enjoy our Humble Bee Farm walks and make use of our new shower block including family shower area, baby changing and with disabled access. 

We also welcome pets (please enquire for details) and include a dog walking area.

For cooler nights, we have fire pits available for hire with wood.

Our wigwams sleep upto a maximum of 5 persons and  they are open all year round and  within easy reach of offsite facilities including pubs,  takeaways and attractions. close to Scarborough, Whitby and Filey- great for surfing, mountain biking and rambling!

Merchandise: We have a selection of wigwam merchandise available from reception, T-shirts, Indian Headdresses, fridge magnets, keyrings. Ideal gifts to take home.

Humble Bee Farm was chosen as a "Best place for family fun" by the Cool Camping Editor in his article in the Sunday Times 28th April 2013.

Facilities

Why not take your little Indians on a break on the wild side?

Humble Bee Farm currently has eight Wigwams (with four more arriving ready for summer 2014) along with a campsite and holiday cottages. The site nestles in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds and is close to the Yorkshire Coast and numerous visitor attractions.

Each Wigwam includes comfy mattresses, fridge, microwave and kettle, along with an outdoor barbeque and picnic table. Each Wigwam sleeps up to five guests.

On site we offer showers, toilets, hairdryers, washing machine, tumble-dryer, washing up sinks and plenty of hot water!

Join us down on the farm and meet lots of farmyard friends, collect a fresh egg for breakfast and enjoy this peaceful rural haven. There is also a children's play area and farm walks and we are dog friendly!

We have an events calendar for 2014 including Lambing and Calving Events, Mothers Day, Star Gazing, Cowboys and Indians and much, much more. Please note: Any evens which may take place during your stay at Humble Bee Farm are open to Humble Bee Farm guests only, thank you.

Throughout July and August, weekends THROUGHOUT the year and Bank Holidays: £45 per wigwam per night

- Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement. Tariff is £6 per dog per night per wigwam. Dogs must be on a lead at all times and must NOT be left unattended in the wigwams.

Terms & Conditions

Humble Bee Farm Wigwam Term and Conditions 

Humble Bee Farm is a relaxed, peaceful location, ideal for a tranquil holiday. We hope you enjoy your stay with us! 

We have eight wigwams (in two sections, containing four wigwams each), along with two shower and toilet blocks. Each wigwam sleeps up to five guests. 

For group bookings (ie, two wigwams or more), please contact Humble Bee Farm on 01723 890437. 

Our wigwams, toilet and shower facilities and shop/reception are strictly NO SMOKING. Thank you. 

Bookings: Arrivals 1pm to 5pm - if you are going to arrive after 5pm, please let us know. Departure on last day - strictly by 10am. Subletting of wigwams is strictly forbidden. 

ONLINE BOOKINGS MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT TIME OF BOOKING. 

Our tariff covers you for the number of guests/dogs discussed at the time of booking. Additional guests may be added providing we have notice and space. Day guests are permitted at Humble Bee Farm but MUST sign in at reception and leave their car in the car park. 

Cancellations: 
We do not give refunds on any bookings made at the Humble Bee Wigwams under any circumstances. However, should more than one month's notice be given, and only if we are able to fill the number of nights you originally booked, we will try to offer you an alternative date. 

Alternative dates, if available, will be offered for up to six months from the cancelled date (ie, a cancelled booking in June 2012 would be honoured up until December 2012). You can transfer the fee to an alternative type of accommodation: Humble Bee Cottages, Wigwams, campsite or to St Kitts, our holiday apartment in Filey. If a booking is cancelled, and you have an outstanding balance, then you will be liable to pay the remaining monies. 

We recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover such eventualities. In the event of a cancellation being made by the customer, the customer is liable to a £10 administration fee. In the event of a cancellation by us, our liability shall be limited to the return in full the monies paid. 

REFUNDS: 
We regret that in the event of a guest leaving early for any reason, NO REFUNDS will be given. May we remind you that your booking is a legally binding contract and in the event of cancellation or curtailment, no refund will be given. This also applies to adverse weather conditions, over which we have no control. Therefore if you choose to cancel your booking due to weather, no refunds will be offered. 

Damages or breakages: 
Please note any damage to site facilities or to a wigwam, including when a wigwam is left in an unsatisfactory state, will incur additional charges. 

Any items left behind in a wigwam must be claimed within two weeks of departure. If relevant, postage and packing charges for the return of goods will apply. 

Guests are NOT permitted to remove any of the wigwam's provided furniture. Please ensure you leave your wigwam in a clean and tidy state. 

Age restrictions: 
We do not accept bookings from unaccompanied adults aged 21 or under. Please see our additional Terms and Conditions for any group bookings we may accept. 

We are NOT a site if you want to 'party' - Humble Bee Farm is a peaceful, rural location ideal for relaxing, with lots of peace and quiet. 

Pets: 
Well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior notice, but must be kept on leads at all times. Please be responsible for cleaning up after your pets. Acceptable breeds only - please ask for details. Please see charges for dogs on our Tariffs page. Dogs are not to be left unattended at any time. Dogs are the responsibility of their owners and as such owners must clear up after their dog. There is a dog waste bin next to the red Biffa bin. 

Campfires: 
Only Humble Bee Farm firepits allowed on site, which can be purchased from reception. You can hire a fire pit for £10 per pit per night - only timber supplied by us can be used. You are NOT permitted to bring your own firepit - any guest fire pits will be confiscated immediately. You are NOT permitted to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead. All timber and similar flammable materials are the property of the owners. Please ensure you use your Humble Bee Farm firepit safely. 

BBQ: 
There is a gas bbq provided with your wigwam. If any disposable bbqs are used, they must be kept off the grass and disposed of as directed by Humble Bee Farm staff. Chinese Lanterns are strictly prohibited. 

Noise: 
We are a Low Noise Policy Site. Please consider other guests and keep noise to a minimum, especially after our 9.30pm watershed. Music is not permitted on site (ie, CD players). 

Driving at Humble Bee Farm: 
The speed limit is 5mph around the park. PLEASE ENSURE YOU STICK TO THIS SPEED LIMIT. This is for Health and Safety reasons, and for the benefit of children and animals that may be sharing Humble Bee Farm with you. No transit vans allowed on site without prior notice. 

Parking: 
There is a parking space provided with each wigwam. Your tariffs cover you for one car per wigwam. Additional cars incur a charge and must be parked in the car park. Please let us know if you wish to bring additional vehicles. 

Waste & Rubbish: 
Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the toilets. Bins are provided - please make sure you use them. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Please empty any liquid waste into designated drain. Refuse area situated near the reception. Please do not drop litter. The red BIFFA bin can be used for general waste. 

Recycling: 
Please make use of the recycling facilities provided. We have recycling bins for glass, cardboard, plastics and paper near to reception. 

Wigwam repairs: 
Please let us know if any repairs are required to your wigwam during your stay. The owners reserve the right to enter your wigwam for service or repairs. 

Children must be accompanied when using the toilet block facilities. Please be aware of where your children are and what they are doing. 

Farm safety: 
Please ensure your children do not use the farm buildings as play areas, and do not play on any farm machinery. The farm pond: Please ensure your children are accompanied when passing the pond, and if feeding the ducks. Please do not allow your children to play around this area. 

Emergency telephone numbers: 
A list of emergency numbers is available in the shower/toilet blocks and for emergencies a telephone is available in reception during certain times. The owners of the park are absolved of all liability for accidents, loss or damage to guests' personal property. 

The owners of the park reserve the rights to ask guests not observing the conditions to leave the park without refunds and with immediate effect. If children feed hens/ducks or come into contact with other farm animals, please ensure they wash their hands. 

We have a credit/debit card facility, available to use on transactions on £5 or over. If a transaction is less than £5, then there is a transaction fee of £1.00 per transaction. 

Children's Play Park:
Our play park is provided for children to enjoy, open from 8am, closing at 9pm. If any inconsiderate noise is made, the play area will be closed immediately. 

Humble Bee Farm does not allow the following in the play area: ball games, bikes, stone throwing, bad language, water bombs or water pistols. 

It is expected that all visitors have read and understood these terms and conditions.
