| Gorsebank Wigwams Open All Year |
Enjoy comfortable camping in our heated wooden wigwams situated in the heart of Dumfries & Galloway – South West Scotland.
Gorsebank is an 80 acre equestrian farm, bordering Dalbeattie Forest and the Galloway hills. Close to local beaches it is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
Enjoy the freedom to wander across the fields, woodland and rocky crags, just be prepared to share your Wigwam pitch with the local wildlife - Roe deer, foxes, badgers, rabbit and occasionally red squirrels visit the pond around which the Wigwams are positioned.
Our Wigwams take all the hassle out of camping without losing any of the sense of adventure.
All are heated, and are equipped with microwave, fridge and kettle. In addition you have the use of a fully equipped kitchen and dining area (no additional cost for electricity).
Outside your Wigwam you have your own picnic table, BBQ and camp fire.
Firewood, charcoal and basic camping essentials can be purchased on the farm, including speciality Galloway beef sausages.
If you are a horse owner, we have super equestrian facilities on site – so why not bring your horse? Enjoy an all day forest hack, beach ride through the surf or try out our cross country course – check out our website for a full breakdown of onsite facilities and holiday livery details. For non horse owners trekking is available at a nearby centre.
The surrounding countryside offers stunning scenery and with so many different attractions and places of interest we are a great base for couples, families and groups, whether you are looking for a relaxing natural haven or activity filled break.
We have an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs close by, especially at the picturesque seaside village of Kippford 1.5 miles away.
If you are feeling romantic, grab a bottle of wine, some food and climb our granite look-outs. Watch the sun set over the estuary and enjoy a romantic evening picnic under our magical giant pine tree.
Subject to availability and local conditions we can organise clay pigeon shooting and falconry on the farm.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Gorsebank but we have some areas where they must be on leads.
