You will find Wigwam Holidays Woodcroft Farm located a mile outside the village of Stanhope, in Weardale, part of the North Pennines AONB, and a short drive from the historic cathedral city of Durham. Set on a traditional hill livestock farm, the site has three en-suite, luxury Wigwam Cabins, allowing you to feel right at home in the great outdoors. It is a perfect place to relax, escape your daily routine, and explore the surrounding landscape.

Come and soak in the tranquility of this secluded site. Relax in the evening sun with a glass of bubbly eating your very own hand picked wild berries during the summer months. Over the winter, enjoy spectacular snow days with sledging followed by a delicious hot chocolate in front of the fire. After a restful night’s sleep in your cosy Wigwam cabin, start the morning with fresh air and soothing birdsong. 

Walking & Cycling

The North Pennines has been designated as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", with stunning walks including the Weardale Way which passes through the site and the nearby Pennine Way. Durham's disused railway tracks are also ideal for exploring and cover many miles - routes can be provided. 

Adventure through the abundance of local footpaths and bridleways where rare birds and plants can be spotted. If you're a keen mountain biker, there are lots of tracks locally and it’s only a 5-minute car ride to the beautiful Hamsterley forest - a biker’s paradise! Bike hire is also available there. 

Dark Skies

The North Pennines is renowned for its vast, starlit skies. With low light pollution at the site, on a clear night you will have a great view of the milky way. There are two observatories close by (one near Allendale and another near Grassholme), both have telescopes designed to observe the dark skies in detail.
