For all of the specialist outdoor sporting activity listed above bring your own equipment and experience, or if you want to hire equipment, tuition or guidance, you could consider the services of Bike Hebrides (8 miles from Mangersta - hire sit on kayaks in addition to bikes) Adventure Hebrides or Surf Lewis.

Sea Trek (8 miles from Mangertsa) provides regular boat trips from Miavaig Pier out to the islands of Loch Roag, and further afield to the Flannan Isles and St Kilda.

The Outer Hebrides climate is very varied. Warm sunshine, rain, gentle sea breezes to gale force winds can all be experienced. In the Winter, snow is less common than on mainland Scotland due to the maritime climate, but is a possibility. Please bring appropriate clothing to fully enjoy the great outdoors.
