Time to stay a little at Staylittle and experience glamping at it’s very best in Powys, Wales!
Wigwam® Holidays Hafren welcomed their first glamping guests on St David’s Day 2018 (1st March) to their site in Mid Wales.
A family run working farm, Wigwam® Holidays Hafren includes six en-suite Running Water Deluxe Cabins with the majestic Cambrian Mountains as a stunning backdrop, surrounded by the spectacular Hafren Forest.
Two of their cabins also have the benefit of a private, wood-fired hot tub, providing an unforgettable, blissful way to end a busy day exploring this magnificent part of Wales.
If you’re active, then you’ll be delighted at the 40km of Forestry routes, Rights of Way and bridleways that form a spectacular network near the site. If you’re a water baby, then Clywedog Lake is just over mile away and one of the nation’s National Trails, Glyndwr’s Way , makes it way through the heart of this Wigwam® site.
Love to cycle? Then Lôn Las Cymru (Sustrans Route 8) can be joined at the site, too, so remember to bring your two-wheeled mode of transport. This cycle trail runs from Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, all the way to Holyhead, and the highest point of the route is near Wigwam® Holidays Hafren. This section is just south of Machynlleth where the route ascends to over 500m on quiet roads. The cycling is tough but the views of the mountain ranges and rolling hills make it worthwhile.
If you simply want to relax, then you can at Wigwam® Holidays Hafren. While the sheep graze peacefully in the fields, you can chill out and watch the lush landscape change as the sun moves slowly across blue skies. Gather round your firepit and watch the stars emerge, forming a starry end to a perfect day.
Sometimes when you take a break, you want to try something different … within a mile of the Wigwam® Cabins, you’ll find the Yamaha Motorcycle Off Road Experience, the Glaslyn Nature Reserve of course the picturesque village of Staylittle, complete with village pub. Handy for a relaxing drink and tasty meals!
Within a 15-mile drive, there’s also horse riding; try to hit your target at the Mid Wales Shooting Centre; be inspired by the Dyfi Osprey Project and visit Borth on the incredible Welsh coast.
Wigwam® Holidays Hafren forms the perfect base for some world-famous attractions that involve a longer drive including Zip World and the Snowdonia National Park; the picturesque university seaside town of Aberystwyth and the Talyllyn Railway.
With such a lot to do near the site, can you possibly fit in some events? Of course you can! The Glansevern Food Fair, the Man V Horse Marathon and RAC Wales Rally take place nearby.
The secrets to any good glamping experience are: location; the warm welcome; and the comfort factor of the accommodation. Wigwam® Holiday Hafren all these in abundance and being open all year also means you can visit during the school holidays or during quieter times if you have toddlers or if you’re time is your own as a retiree.
