Wigwam® Holidays at the Royal Highland Show 2017

A natural partnership, Wigwam® Holidays will be on the Third Avenue of the Lifestyle section of the Royal Highland Show next month.

The first of the summer shows attended by Wigwam® Holidays, the Royal Highland kicks off on Thursday 22nd June and concludes on Sunday 25th June.

Now enjoying its 177th ‘outing’, the Royal Highland Show is one of Scotland’s most iconic events, and is firmly established as one of Europe’s finest celebrations of farming, food and rural life.

Last year, the show attracted 190,000 visitors – an impressive turnout!

Located at the impressive Royal Highland Centre, just outside Edinburgh city centre, the site is close to Edinburgh airport and to the motorway network (M8 and M9).

There’s something to excite every one of the five senses at the Royal Highland Show with lots of different sights, sounds and tastes during the four-day event.

For foodies, Scotland’s Larder Live! is a must, featuring the celebrated Cookery Theatre. Free talks and tastings are the order of the day.

For little grown-ups, the RHET Discovery Centre is popular, while music lovers will be utterly spoilt by Absolute Elvis, Phoenix Gospel Choir and many more.

For those who love to shop, the 13th Avenue Arcade includes arts, crafts, fashion and more, and if you like to watch others do the hard work, then see record-breaking action at the Forestry Arena.

And a show of this calibre includes some of the best livestock around, from cattle to sheep, from horses to goats. All looking their best, with bright eyes, glossy coats and perhaps a bushy tail or two!

Wigwam® Holidays is a regular exhibitor at the show and is the brainchild of its Managing Director Charles Gulland, who is based in Edinburgh.

Back in 1989, Charles created a prototype cabin that was sustainable, heated and comfy. From this original pyramid shaped timber tent to the four choices of glamping cabin available today, Wigwam® Holidays has helped spearhead the glamping revolution, promoting Great Holidays in the Great Outdoors.

The ethos of using sustainable timber, building the cabins here in Scotland and using skilled craftsmen to create the glamping cabins means as well as being placed in some great locations, Wigwams also helps care for the environment as much as possible.
