Wigwam Holidays saved the best till last as the year headed towards a close by choosing November to launch a sensational new en suite Wigwam at their 2011 Conference in Edinburgh.
The event was held at the Hilton hotel near the city's airport where the new style luxury Wigwam was proudly displayed in the hotel grounds. Owners of many of the UK's 47 sites attending the conference gave this latest the model the thumbs up by forming the company's distinctive trademark 'W' to show their approval.
The new 'all singing all dancing' Wigwam, made from British timber boasts a bathroom with shower as well as a mini kitchen - yet still sleeps up to 5 people despite being a similar size to the original model. According to Charles Gulland, director of manufacturers the Wigwam Cabin Co, the secret is in the extra curvature built into his latest innovation to create even more space.
When news of the new deluxe Wigwam was posted on our Facebook page it proved a big hit - attracting comments from 'so much better than having to 'go' outside' to 'great idea' and 'awesome'.
Woodclose Park in Cumbria were the first to snap up the show Wigwam - straight off the production line and one of our Northumbrian sites has ordered 3 and will be supplying hot tubs to go with them!
The new Wigwams could encourage more land owners to start Wigwam Holiday sites because they are self-contained and don't necessarily need the provision of separate facilities for washing and cooking.
As well as previewing the new Wigwam, delegates at the conference heard presentations from site owners and from the Wigwam Holidays marketing and publicity team whose brief is to see Wigwam Holidays become the biggest alternative holiday brand in the UK within the next 3 years. The conference also heard that more sites are taking up the option of providing on line booking which is proving a popular incentive to attract even more customers.
