For many happy campers, June is the month when summer really kicks off and after the bad winter this year, many will be looking to make the most of their summer holidays. If it’s a comfortable camping experience you’re after then why not try a Wigwam Holiday? This June saw Wigwam Holidays set off down to the Northumbrian coast where they delivered eight brand new wigwams® to Pot-a-Doodle do Wigwam Village.

Site owners John and Christine Whiteford first discovered Wigwam Holidays in Scotland whilst walking along the famous West Highland Way. ‘Our friends were staying at Strathfillan Wigwam Village’ explains Christine, ‘when we saw the wigwams® we thought they were just great and we are pleased to now have some of our own’. John and Christine are both very happy with their new wigwams® saying that ‘they are just lovely. They look great and are very nice inside’. |
The rain held off this year and despite the credit crunch the show had a bumper attendance. As always there was plenty of interest in wigwam holidays with wigwamers old and new paying the stand a visit and enjoying the heated wooden wigwam on display at Scotland’s premier agricultural and social event.
The Queen was there and gave us a wave as she passed by! It was a pleasure to see so many of our members keeping such good company.

Plenty of fun for all to be had at Pot-a-Doodle Do! |
The Wigwam Village has lots to offer besides fantastic accommodation. On site there is a restaurant which now provides breakfast between 9-10.30 am. ‘It’s really nice in the mornings’ says Christine, ‘there’s a real buzz about the place’. The site is only a 20 minutes drive from Holy Island which is a very popular attraction as is Bamburgh Castle. Harry Potter fans will be excited to hear that Alnwick Castle, which has featured in two of the films, is also close by. |
Wigwam® camping cabins are the real deal when it come to all year round camping. They are truly a four season accommodation meaning that sites like Pot-a-Doodle Do can stay open all year round. ‘We are always full on New Year’s Eve’ says Christine. ‘The only time we close is on New Year’s Day itself for about a month then re-open in February and it’s non-stop from there!’
Go wild for wigwams® this summer and head to Northumberland for a fantastic stay at Pot-a-Doodle Do Wigwam Village!
