8 tenuous links to Game of Thrones and Wigwam® Holidays

Monday 21 August 2017 @ 10:22

During a rather rare quiet day here at Wigwam® Holidays we got chatting about Game of Thrones in the office. Where it was filmed, who starred in it and the fact that Iain Glen, who plays the character Jorah Mormont, did the voice over for a Visit Scotland advert the Wigwam site, Shulista Croft was featured in the advert.

We tried desperately to come up with other links to Game of Thrones and Wigwam sites but alas, all we could come up with were these extremely tenuous links.

We’re pretty sure you’ll all have better links to GOT than we have!

But here they are anyway.

  1. Causeway Coast Wigwams is only 15 minutes from Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland.
  2. Maisie Williams (aka Arya Stark) is from Bristol and the closest cast member to our Bristol View site.
  3. Ledra Chapman played on the Wigwam stage at Carfest. She has also appeared on the same bill as Ed Sheeran who was an extra in Game of Thrones.
  4. The Welsh national flag features a dragon and Game of Thrones has 3 dragons. We have a few sites in Wales, not sure you’ll see any dragons though.
  5. Game of Thrones is helping to save farming and rare breed pigs, something that we are also very keen to get involved in too, especially as a lot of our sites are on working farms.
  6. Tyrion Lannister certainly has a taste for wine. We think he’d feel at home at Secret Valley Wigwams where they have their own winery and vineyard!
  1. Last year our very own Wigwam Wolf was born. He’s very small and cuddly but is definitely related to the direwolf and can be just as fierce.
  1. Iain Glen did the voice over for the Visit Scotland advert in 2016 and Shulista Croft Wigwams were featured on the video with the Northern Lights right above them.
