What's on near Wigwam® Holidays Humble Bee Farm

We all like a bargain, and if you're on the Yorkshire Coast, there's no shortage of free (or very nearly free) things to do and see in Scarborough!

Attractions

Love history? Visit Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre, 45 Eastborough - open Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 4pm. Discover the town's Titanic connections; its bombardment during World War One and the incredible maritime past of the port of Scarborough.

Those aged under 18 can get in free at the Rotunda Museum and Scarborough Art Gallery, small charge applies for over 18s.

If you love architecture, art and historic buildings, then visit St Mary's Church in the Old Town, or St Martin on the Hill on the South Cliff. Visit Anne Bronte's grave near St Mary's, and see windows designed by William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti at St Martin's.

A trip around Peasholm Park on the north side of Scarborough is a must for anyone. Free to enter, enjoy the impressive Tree Trail; see the boating lake and feed the ducks; read about the history of this park, which is over one hundred years old. The park is open through out the year with some ticketed events taking place during the season.

How about visiting one of Europe's largest water parks? Scarborough's Alpamare attraction is perfect for water babies of all ages!

Activities

The local landmark Hairy Bob's Cave forms the backdrop to Hairy Bob's Skate Park, open year round. Just remember to bring your skateboard!

There's a number of free play parks for the kids, including one at Castle Dykes (near Scarborough Castle); one in the Royal Albert Gardens, above the Marine Drive; there's also play parks at Falsgrave Park and at Gallow's Close, near Sainsbury's.

Scarborough Civic Society has put together a number of fascinating walks around the town, during which you can exercise the grey matter as well as your legs! Click onto their website for Heritage Trails, Blue Plaque Trail and their Lottery-funded Paint the Town Trail.
