Directions

Sands Wigwams can be found by following the A832 to Gairloch. At Gairloch take the B8021 to Melvaig, 4 miles along this road will bring you to the centre at Little Sand.

An ideal location for families of all ages where you can enjoy the best of the great outdoors with breathtaking scenery, tranquil lochs and golden beaches. The Cameron family have owned the park for over 40 years and they believe in running the park on informal lines.

The Award- winning beach is a stone's throw over the dunes, with gently shelving seas. Longa Island provides some shelter from rough seas and with a concrete slipway for boat launching on site. It's a great location for all sorts of water sports. The adjoining farm is a great attraction for younger visitors especially the Highland Cattle and sheep shearing in June and July.

Wigwams

Our wooden wigwam cabins each have electric light, panel heater, standard UK household sockets, mattresses and their own picnic bench outside. You can choose from our two smaller wigwams which have a raised platform for sleeping or our six larger wigwams have cushioned seating, free standing table and a Kettle. Our wigwams are located near to the toilet/shower block and there is a kitchen/ dining area for your use.

Sands area

Sands is a perfect base for exploring the best of Wester Ross from the famous Torridon Mountains and the wild Applecross peninsula in the South, To the world renowned Inverewe garden and historic fishing village of Ullapool in the north. Explore the wildlife living in this unique habitat by setting sale on a whale spotting cruise, giddy-up and go pony trekking with the children or for a more relaxing experience retreat to our sandy coves where you can take in the splendour of the Scottish Highlands from the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.

Gairloch, a traditional crafting and fishing village, is situated 3 miles from the park. In and around Gairloch you will find lots of quaint craft and gift shops, galleries and food stores. Whilst out on a stroll admiring the many charms of the surrounding area, why not try some of the superb local restaurants and cafes on offer.

Attractions

Gairloch Heritage Museum
Gairloch Heritage Museum is a record of life in the area from pre-history to the present day.

Gairloch Marine Life Centre and Cruises
Daily boat cruises between April and October where we monitor and survey Harbour Porpoises, Whales, Grey and Common Seals and Dolphins, plus a huge variety of seabirds including White Tailed Eagles.
