Loch Ness Wigwams
Loch Ness Shores - the name says it all. This is one of only a few locations around Loch Ness where there is easy access to the shoreline. Nestled in tranquil surroundings, our campsite offers stunning panoramic views around Loch Ness, to the mountains beyond. With a backdrop of woodlands and forests, it's Inverness glamping at its best.
In addition to the infamous 'Nessie', wildlife in the area includes red squirrels, badgers, otters, bats, wild goats and deer. The surrounding area boasts 40 species of wild birds alone.
The Falls of Foyers, an uphill walk from the site, is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Scotland. A tourist attraction since Victorian times, the falls were made famous by Rabbie Burns. You'll also have access to numerous other walks, including an on-site dog walk, the leisurely stroll to Foyers Pier, and a wide range of forest paths both in Foyers and neighbouring Inverfarigag. The recently constructed and excellently appointed South Loch Ness Trail is also just a stone's throw away.
Wildlife hides are available along with opportunity to take part in a range of organised activities including walks, bird watching, geo-caching and mini-bus tours of the wider area. Canoeing and kayaking can also been arranged through Explore Highland 'Boots n Paddles'.
A brand new site, Loch Ness Wigwams offers facilities to 5* standard, including an amenity block, reception/farm shop and community area with under floor heating and hot water provided by sustainable and innovative solar thermal and geo-thermal technology. Carbon management is also demonstrated through the choice of buildings, with energy efficient construction and low impact, locally sourced materials.
