Welcome to Herding Hill Farm. We are a family run Traditional Tearoom, shop and Touring Caravan & Camping Site situated in the Heart of Hadrians Wall Country. Just a 10 minute walk from the most complete part of the World Heritage Site of Hadrians Wall and the Centre of Britain town of Haltwhistle. We provide the perfect place for day visitors to the Northumberland National Park and tourists planning a longer stay to enjoy the delights that our Border County offers.
For the 2012 season we are building a high quality Amenity Block that has the following:- Drying Room, Laundry Room, Disabled/family bathroom, showers, WC's and the ladies have two private bathrooms. There is even a unisex sauna too which is available for 2 hours per day and outside this it can be booked for your private use. This building is underfloor heated and is supplied by an Air Source Heat Pump and we also have solar thermal panels to heat the water. We have a covered cycle store, wash up area, boot wash and dog wash.
We have three ensuite 6 person Wigwams that also have Hot Tubs to Hire and three 5 person Wigwams that do not have Hot Tubs.Take a look at our website for details.
Our onsite Shop & Tearoom specialise in sourcing the very best locally produced food from the Hadrians Wall corridor, encompassing Cumbria, Northumberland and Border regions of Scotland. We pride ourselves in providing delicious home cooked food freshly prepared using the regional produce. Sunday Lunches are also available and a beautiful range of gifts and souvenirs can be purchased to memorise your stay with us. We are proud to support local artisans from the region including photographers, artists and stained glass designers.
Our Touring Park offers the ideal location to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the stunning Northumberland Countryside aswell as being ideally located to visit Hadrians Wall World Heritage Site, the beautiful Lake District, coastal regions of Cumbria and Northumberland and Kielder Forest which hosts Europes biggest man-made reservoir. We haven't even mentioned the whole host of Castles, Stately Homes and Visitor attractions that are on our doorstep, but be assured that there is plenty to see and do within an hours drive in any direction from our site here in Haltwhistle.
We are the proud owners of two young male Alpacas (Knight and Mamba) who graze happily outside our Tearoom during the day and are a firm favourite of our visitors who enjoy seeing them keep a watchful eye over our hens, ducks and guinea pigs!
We have a Childrens play area that has a Wooden Roman Fort & a disc swing for the older kids and a toddlers Pirate ship.
